AJ Burns | CSC Photography - Headshots | Emory & Henry College - Emory, VA
I feel like I'm constantly posting a new gallery full of headshots for AJ... and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I absolutely adore this session, not only is it probably my favorite headshot session to date, but it taught me a few important lessons.
1) Just because you don't have a whole lot of time to photograph doesn't mean you shouldn't. We did this session in roughly 15 minutes (and it's GORGEOUS)! Of course, I will always opt for a longer timeframe when I can (it saves everyone some stress), but shorter sessions don't mean we don't get good pictures.
2) Sometimes, I need to SLOW DOWN! We're all busy, having our minds racing from one thing to the next. Especially in shorter sessions, I'm constantly worrying about whether or not I got enough shots for the gallery, did I provide enough variety in the posing, why am I spending so much time talking to my client and getting to know them better (is that really the best use of my time), will my client even like the ones I deliver, etc. Even though I don't always feel like it should help, taking a moment to breathe, slow down, and remember (and I mean actively remember) my own process is so beneficial. I shoot better quality images. I establish a better connection with my client. The whole experience is just better all around.
AJ, this headshot session is STUNNING, and I can't wait to see all of the big things you accomplish with your new photos!

See you soon,
