Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church 90+ Honoree Luncheon | CSC Photography - Event | Abingdon, VA

If you've read any of my other blogs about Sinking Spring, you know I love all of the work they do for the community, like this blessing box behind the church.

However, the church also does a lot for the members of the congregation.

Every year, the church hosts sort of a birthday party for those in the congregation over the age of 90!

It was such an honor to be able to capture this special group of people as they were celebrated in a fashion that reminded them of their childhood.

The Abingdon Community Center was decorated with items from the 1920's and 1930's.

Moon pies, records, and cracker jacks were strategically placed in center pieces of each table, and YoYo's were in goody bags for honorees.

After a wonderful chicken lunch, guests were serenaded with songs from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. I know I loved hearing some favorites, such as "Jeepers Creepers," and "Oh Playmate."

See you soon,
