I got out of my car at Hidden Valley Lake and looked around at the location I've shot at before. I wasn't nervous. If you've ever seen the Conleys, you know why. They are super cute and photogenic. I've known them for years, so I'm already really comfortable around them. Plus, spending an afternoon with little Sully is enough to make anyone happy.
Quickly, I scanned for the best light for the session, and the Conleys pulled up. Although he was a tad upset at first, little Sully ran right over to a stump and sat for his pictures. I didn't even have to direct him! I knew the session was going to go well.
To say this session was a success would be an understatement, but working with this gorgeous family definitely doesn't make my job hard.
When we arrived at the lake, Sully warned me to watch out for bears... and if I saw one to shout, "HEY YOU, BEAR!"
When, I told Chris and Martha that I got Sully playing with a rock in the background of their couples portrait, Chris replied,
'That describes family to a T."
This one really likes the rocks.
Yes, you read that right! Chris and Martha even surprised me with this special announcement! I didn't have a clue until Martha pulled the shirt out and told me they had a surprise with this photoshoot. I couldn't have been more thrilled!
P.S. Did you know that Chris and Martha also had their maternity session at Hidden Valley? I picked the location, so I just love that coincidence! Also, the quilt they're on has been used in every one of their photoshoots since Chris and Martha were engaged!
Just think about how much love that little bundle of joy is going to receive!
Sully is going to be the best big brother!
I absolutely cannot wait to see what else God has in store for this sweet family... and to meet the newest addition to the Conley family in June!
