Camp Moose on the Loose | Calvary Baptist Church VBS - Event | Castlewood, VA

I can't even begin to describe the amount of joy I experience from being able to donate my time to incredible causes. This is why I love photographing for the church I grew up attending and the church I attend while I'm at Emory and Henry. (Read about that post here).

I don't remember when I started going to Calvary Baptist Church because I was a baby. I've been going there since birth.

A favorite memory of mine is attending vacation bible school every year.

I love the songs, the puppets, the lessons... everything!

I was so glad to step it up this year, as I had the opportunity to volunteer to be a puppet and the official photographer at this year's VBS.

One of the most important things I learned from this experience is...

People like to see themselves on the photo slideshow ... BUT ... they don't like it as much when you follow them around with a camera.

I get it though!

I don't like a camera on me at all times either

...and I'm a photographer!

Overall, this was just a fun and enjoyable experience. Everyone was excited about the activities they had planned, the pictures, and (most importantly) God!

I can't wait to come back next year.

Enjoy a few of my favorite images from this event!

Isn't it amazing that playground time was always during the peak of golden hour? I can't get over this light!

The kids loved the hayrides every night.

These kids are the cutest!

I can't even begin to describe the picture on the right. There's a man flying in that thing! How cool!

I just want to thank all of the VBS volunteers! I know everyone appreciates your hard work... and I definitely ate more than my fair share of popcorn, Kool-Aid, and oatmeal cookies (even if I was the only one who preferred those to the Oreos).

There were bouncy houses at the picnic on Friday! Photographing on that was totally a first for me, but it was so much FUN! Parents had to drag their kids off of them to eat and eventually leave.

Look at these puppets!

Little Lailah was so happy to put in her offering!

Everyone loved the skits "Ranger Woody" and Brandon did every night. It was such a fun way to continue the lessons taught in class and offer real world examples to the lessons.

These kids ran up to the stage - voluntarily - almost every night to help Vicki and Brandon during sing-a-long!

VBS Director and Youth Pastor, Jason, always has the best/goofiest personality!

The details were so cute for this camping theme. These guys seriously think of everything.

See you soon,

Caitlin S. Cornett
